Mike Woodgate has extensive experience in the related fields of corporate strategy, corporate marketing and communications, investor relations, industry and economic analysis and government policy. He has worked in the media, government, manufacturing, service and consulting industries and has experience across a broad range of industry sectors. He has held senior corporate positions in both listed and unlisted public companies, as well as consulting to major Australian corporates. His corporate positions included Company Secretary and Group Manager Corporate Affairs and Strategy Support with aviation and defence simulation company, Adacel Technologies Limited, and earlier, Group Manager-Planning and Marketing with a national risk capital financier.
He was previously a senior consultant with Royce Communications, where he provided strategic communications advice on, and implementation of, corporate and financial communications programs, including strategies to support corporate positioning, investor and government relations and issues identification and management.
His corporate strategy consulting experience has included industry and organisational analysis, a review of strategic planning processes, a regional economic development strategy, futures and long term trends analysis and scenario planning.
He was a Project Manager with the Victorian Department of Industry Technology and Resources analysing and advising on industry policy and development programs for the automotive, textile clothing and footwear, and the information technology sectors.
He was a senior finance journalist with the Australian Financial Review and the paper's writer on national car industry affairs. He was a finance journalist with The Australian and producer and presenter of a daily business program on Radio Australia.
Mike has an MBA from Melbourne University's Graduate School of Management, including winning the Operations Management Prize and a CUB Award of Distinction and gaining first class honours in Business Policy. He has a BA (Melbourne) with a double economic major.
